Christian de Brunswick ou Christian d'Halberstadt (1599-1626), évêque luthérien d'Halberstadt fut un allié de Frédéric V du Palatinat pendant la guerre de Trente Ans.

Chef de l'armée protestante, Christian de Brunswick prend la défense de Frédéric V du Palatinat en 1621. Ayant passé l'hiver à exhorter la population à se révolter contre les catholiques, il se retrouve à la tête d'environ 15 000 hommes dans la région des évêchés de Westphalie vers celle de la Hesse-Darmstadt, pour faire jonction avec les forces armées du comte Ernst von Mansfeld.

Vaincu le 20 juin 1622 par le comte de Tilly à la Bataille de Höchst, il se réfugie aux Pays-Bas.

Le 6 août 1623, à la Bataille de Stadtlohn, les troupes catholiques plus nombreuses et aussi beaucoup plus aguerries de Tilly anéantissent l'armée de Christian de Brunswick, dont à peu près deux tiers des soldats sont tués ou faits prisonniers.

Au service de Christian IV de Danemark, il sera vaincu une troisième fois en 1626 et mourra de ses blessures à Wolfenbüttel, .
