Jonathan David Edwards (né le 10 mai 1966, Londres, Angleterre) est un ancien athlète anglais qui pratiquait le triple saut.

Il a été champion olympique. Lors des championnats du monde d'athlétisme à Göteborg en 1995, il fut le premier athlète à sauter à 18 mètres en conditions régulières avant d'améliorer une deuxième fois sa marque avec un saut à 18,29 m, record du monde encore à ce jour.

Par ailleurs le journal L'Équipe l'a élu sportif mondial de l'année en 1995.

Au début Jonathan Edwards refusait de concourir le dimanche à cause de ses croyances chrétiennes. Une position de principe qui lui a valu de ne pas pouvoir concourir aux championnats du monde de 1991. Cependant en 1993, après discussion et délibération avec son père, il décide de concourir le dimanche car si Dieu lui a donné un talent, c'est pour l'exercer.
